Angela Saravia is an example of the importance of family and that one can see further because we are supported by the shoulders of our parents. Angela’s parents were called to the ministry when she was of young age. Her family re-rooted to different environments and faced many life challenges, which led Angela to a deep understanding of cultural identity, sense of belonging, and family history. Her parents’ sacrifices and dedication to helping others, showed Angela the importance of family and the key role of parents and caretakers. Her upbringing and family values ignited a desire to help others in meaningful ways.
She began her career working with a non-profit agency to support children that have experienced sexual abuse. It was one of the most impactful experiences in her career as she witness the extraordinary resilience children and families have to adapt and thrive from adversity when given the right support. Thus, Angela focused her clinical development on becoming a trauma (multiple/single incident trauma, developmental, generational, vicarious, and racial trauma) and attachment (emotional, unhealthy, disruptive attachment) informed therapist.
Over the years in practice, she noted the unique struggles and lack of mental health support given to families involved in foster care, adoption, kinship adoption, and permanency. Which led to the creation of Strong Family Roots, Angela’s main goal is to provide consistent encouragement and practical resources for parents and caregivers to have confidence, peace of mind, and a happy family.

“She helped me understand the “whys” behind the “whats” and frequently helped me see things in a new and different light.”
She helped me understand the “whys” behind the “whats” and frequently helped me see things in a new and different light.
My 4-year-old foster son and I have worked with Angela for over a year. Angela has been so helpful in so many ways. She helped me identify and understand various behaviors my foster son was exhibiting, as well as taught me many skills and gave me many tools I could pull from to help in different situations with him. She helped me understand the “whys” behind the “whats” and frequently helped me see things in a new and different light. She was also so great at understanding me and how I was feeling and helped me make sure I was taking care of myself. She is very professional and personable and has a true gift for connecting with her clients. She has supported me and advocated for us in such a special way. It has been a true blessing that we were given the opportunity to work with her! – MR
