The preadolescent and adolescent years are a season of profound transformation—biologically, cognitively, and socially. For teens who joined their families through adoption, these changes are often layered with a deeper search for identity and a need to understand their unique history. At Strong Family Roots, we specialize in helping teens navigate these complexities. We provide a space where your teenager can feel seen and heard while ensuring you, as the parent, remain a grounded and informed partner in their growth.
Empowering Your Teen Through Self-Discovery In our individual sessions, we move beyond “surface-level” talk. We help adolescents explore their values, manage intense emotions, and build the self-esteem necessary for true autonomy. This is a safe haven for them to process thoughts on adoption, belonging, and connection, while learning practical strategies to handle the pressures of modern teen life.
Your Crucial Role: The Bridge to Lasting Change Parents play a crucial role in their teen’s well-being. Within the legal limits of confidentiality, parent sessions will include discussions about general progress in therapy, sharing information about the teen’s development, difficulties, strengths, and changes at home. Our goal is to help you create an empathetic and nurturing relationship among all family members, fostering understanding and connection during these important years. We will also address topics such as open communication about adoption and supporting your teen’s evolving identity.
