Infants, Toddlers, and children possess a developmentally unique way of understanding the world and their place in it. Like adults, children need help when facing changes and life challenges. Children express themselves, their ideas, and feelings through creative and symbolic means.
Play therapy adapts to the child’s developmental level and “their language” – language of play. Through play, children’s defenses go down creating a sense of safety where children share their experiences, and feelings and learn new ways to manage emotions and situations in healthier ways.
- Parents play a crucial role – Parents will be highly involved in the therapeutic process. Parent sessions will include a better understanding of the child’s development, environment, difficulties, strength, and family dynamics to better serve the child and family.
