Parent-child separation due to war, natural disasters, institutionalization, and domestic and international migration can lead to a long-lasting impact on all family members. Attachment-focused family therapy helps reintegrate children and adolescents with family members. It helps parents and caretakers to develop trauma-informed parenting tools, attune to the child/ adolescent needs, and create a new and secure bond under the close supervision of a clinician while following the child’s lead emotionally and psychologically.
